Frequently Asked Questions I know you shoot film, are my images also available
digitally? Yes, of course. In addition to a full range of print sizes,
all images are available as either a web-optimized 4x6, best for uploading
and use with LA Casting or any online service. Images are also of course available as a
high resolution 8x10, best for printing.
The agencies and managers we work with understand and vehemently support
our pursuit of perfection; to this end, we are constantly striving to
optimize the film/digital process.
This allows us the best of both worlds: film capture and digital
workflow. We now offer both high and low resolution CDs of your entire shoot. Please see the
pricing page. How often do I need new pictures? I’ve noticed the variety of looks in
your shoots. Who does the hair,
makeup, and styling, and how much does it cost? All hair, makeup and styling are done
by the photographer, and are included in the price of the shoot. This includes all skin tones and hair types,
including straight, curly, African American, and anything else you have. We also have an extensive collection of
hair pieces and a plethora of techniques to work with every situation. We encourage people to come in or call ahead
of time and strategize if hair/makeup is a challenge. Do you provide wardrobe? Yes and no. We do have an extensive wardrobe for all
ages which we are constantly updating and rotating. However, this is not in lieu of you
bringing your own clothes, accessories, etc. Please see the “what to
bring” section for a detailed list of suggested ideas. We use our wardrobe to
enhance and differentiate your look; we can not outfit you for your entire
shoot. Why are the ages
split the way they are for pricing? Munchkins and Kids (ages 4-10) Kids need a good range of images representing their versatility. This can almost always be done in 2
rolls. The exception to this can occur
when clients are represented by two different agents. In short, what Wendy at Abrams needs to
successfully market her clients commercially and theatrically will be totally
different than what Mindy at Ford is going to want for her print marketing
purposes. As photographers we can get
stuck in the middle, trying to give keep two people happy with half of the
film they would normally get (if there was only one agent). Many times we are
able to keep everyone happy with two rolls; however there are certain times
we need to use a third roll to get the job done. Tweeners & Teens (ages 11-17) The
story of the tweeners and teens is a story of duality and our necessity to capture
an entire range of images. This
chameleon-like group can change before our very eyes. On one day, a teen or tweener can still be
the sweet kid that helps mom and dad around the house and looks
wholesome. But change the clothes (and
the attitude), and the young woman or man becomes the teen hottie or hunk
that goes out with his/her friends, hangs out and is just cool. This begs the question: what do we do?
Which way do we go with this group?
The answer of course is that we do it all. No one knows which jobs these kids are
going to book. They might need to look
a little older or a little younger. We
just make sure we cover every base, because we want to give the agent as many
marketing tools as possible. |
